Cooperation with Myanmar


Diplomatic relations between the two countries were established on February 18, 1948.

In 1950-60s, the Soviet Union provided substantial technical and material assistance to Myanmar.

In November 2014, Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev visited Myanmar and in 2015 Myanmar Vice President Nyan Tun paid a visit to Russia.

In 2014, the Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation was established.

The Joint Russian-Myanmar Commission on Military-Technical Cooperation has been successfully functioning.

Rostec State Corporation has a representative office in Myanmar that ensures Rosoboronexport's interests.
