On August 27-29, 2001, King Abdullah II of Jordan paid an official visit to Moscow. On June 26, 2012, Russian President Vladimir Putin paid a working visit to Jordan.
Trade and economic cooperation between Russia and Jordan is carried out on the basis of agreements on trade, economic and technical cooperation signed on January 21, 1969 and a protocol to them of October 5, 1997. There is a Russian-Jordanian Intergovernmental Commission for the development of trade, economic, scientific and technical cooperation.
The Russian-Jordanian Business Council was established in 2005.
