Cooperation with Colombia


Diplomatic relations between the countries were established on June 25, 1935.

In 1948, after riots in Bogota, the Colombian authorities severed diplomatic relations, which were restored on January 19, 1968 at the initiative of the Colombian side.

In recent years, the countries have been striving to expand trade and economic cooperation, and meetings at the level of heads of ministries and departments have been held.

The Russian-Colombian Intergovernmental Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific and Technical Cooperation, established in July 1979, is an important instrument for the progressive development of bilateral ties in the trade and economic sphere.

On March 12, 1996, the Government of the Russian Federation and the Government of the Republic of Colombia concluded an agreement on military-technical cooperation.

Rostec State Corporation has a representative office in Colombia that ensures Rosoboronexport's interests.
