Cooperation with Argentina


Diplomatic relations between the two countries were established on October 22, 1885. After the October Revolution of 1917, the relations were interrupted and restored in 1946.

The first official visit of Argentine President Raul Alfonsin to Russia took place in October 1986.

The first official visit of Russian President Dmitry Medvedev to Argentina took place in April 2010.

There is an Intergovernmental Russian-Argentine Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific and Technical Cooperation.

The foundation of military-technical cooperation was laid during a meeting in Moscow on June 24, 2004 between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Argentine President Nestor Kirchner who signed the treaty on military-technical cooperation (ratified in 2006).

Rostec State Corporation has a representative office in Argentine that ensures Rosoboronexport's interests.
